We all have standards, but are you willing to develop them? If you are, then look no further than a forthcoming workshop on the practical experiences of Irish companies in developing telecoms standards.

Hosted by Enterprise Ireland, the workshop (complementing the ISO JTC1 Conference in Belfast) takes place in Dublin on October 27th, and looks at the commercial and technical benefits that can result from participation in the development of telecoms and Internet standards. Speakers at the event include Dr Ian Cowan, Senior Standards Officer, National Standards Authority of Ireland, Alan MacNamee Chief Scientist, Openet Telecom.

The workshop is targeted at two specific entities: companies already fully engaged in standards development and which are looking to further their involvement and to harnessing of the benefits of their standards work; companies that simply wish to consider the advantages of committing to standards development work.

The workshop covers a range of topics including  the level of commitment required, the means of achieving influence and weighing up whether to get involved in the first instance.

The workshop will be held at Enterprise Ireland’s offices at The Plaza, East Point Business Park, Dublin 3. 8am-12.30pm, followed by a networking lunch. To register for this event, click here
