You may have noticed that this year’s Oscars had a distinctly Irish flavour (Irish Times Story) . Of course behind the headlines is a lot of hard work by a lot of people, some of which operate under the banner of AnimationIreland.com .

In 2007 at the industry’s request, Enterprise Ireland helped put together a group to represent the animation sector in Ireland.  It was agreed a CEO Forum of leading Irish Animation companies (see the list of companies on the website) would collaborate to present a unified sector identity and address key objectives and challenges that face the industry.

The focus of the Forum is to

• International positioning Ireland as a leading centre for Animation – quality , skills, new technologies & identify and exploit opportunities by investigating new market opportunities with support through EI mechanisms.
• Develop scale among sector players
• Network and share experiences in a structured manner
• Support development to compete effectively in global markets and encourage development of an agenda involving Irish cos and third levels towards supporting skill needs of industry
