250+ Multinational ISO Delegates in Belfast – Do you want to meet them?
Posted by on 17 September, 2010 in Event | Links | MicrosoftStandards for Information and Communication Technologies define the playing field on which your company competes. Whether you sell to business or consumers, the International Standards Organisation (ISO) has a direct impact on your company, be in the fields of biometrics, software and systems engineering, sensor networks, coding of audio, picture, multimedia and hypermedia information, information technology for learning, education and training, security cards & personal identification and information exchange over networks.
The JTC (Joint Technical Committee) is the ISO conference where the national bodies define these international rules and standards. For more than a decade the BSI (British Standards Institute) and NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland) have been trying to attract this conference to these Islands, and have finally succeeded in bringing the meeting to Belfast in November 2010. This is the first time the JTC1 will be hosted in either the UK or Ireland.
Your opportunity to meet the JTC delegates
The 250+ people attending the conference include senior technical and business development personnel from ICT companies from around the world. While the main JTC Plenary is a closed meeting , there is now an opportunity for a selected number of ICT companies from Ireland and Northern Ireland to participate in an ICT Showcase Event mid-day on Wednesday 10th November 2010. We are hoping to focus on companies in the following areas;
- Financial Services
- Mobile
- Digital Content / E-Learning
- Cloud
Enterprise Ireland, Invest NI and InterTradeIreland are working with BSI and NSAI to secure;
- Media coverage for the main plenary event, the opening of which should see Ministerial participation.
- Effective promotion of the Showcase Event, starting from the Delegate Registration Stage.
- Use of the Exhibition Centre to provide additional networking opportunities between the selected ICT companies from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The main Plenary Meeting is taking place in the Europa Hotel in Belfast, with the ICT Showcase event taking place in the same venue.
Invest NI, Enterprise Ireland and InterTradeIreland believe that this is a unique opportunity for indigenous ICT companies to demonstrate their products and capabilities to an extremely influential audience. If you are an Enterprise Ireland or Invest NI Client company, and would like to know more, please contact your Development Advisor, email me at Paul[dot]Browne[at]Enterprise-Ireland.com, or contact me via Linkedin.
It is expected that there will be more clients interested in this event than spaces available; Selection will be made based on the best fit with the clusters, and with the conference attendees.
